Detailed local business listings beside a clickable search engine map can boost your business dramatically. The process to achieve these rankings is simple. You just need a couple hours to complete the process – and the information in this post.
If your business is done in a specific geographical area then this is for you. I recommend that you list your site in all of the 3 top search engines – currently Google, Yahoo and Bing.
You need to start with a keyword analysis. Find the keywords relevant to your products and services that are searched the most and have the least number of competitors. I use this Google tool for keyword analysis. Use the most focused keywords in the rest of your efforts. Note in the Yahoo local business listing below the keywords in the company name. You should do the same.
So, what to do? Go to each of these pages armed with your keywords and make sure you complete all sections. Use all (ideally) keyword oriented categories provided in each search engine.

See the Google local business listings below. Note all of the company information in the listing:
Once you have registered in all search engines send customers to the comments pages and ask them to provide testimonials, then send info about your listing out to Twitter, Facebook, etc.
This simple effort can pay off with significantly increased search engine exposure, more relevant traffic and more sales. That’s what it’s all about, right?
